Still life with a Nautilus, limited edition print
Limited edition print of 50, on archival fine art paper, 50 cm x 60 cm
The scanned image for this limited-edition printed on canvas comes from an original oil painting sold a few years ago. I was inspired at this special moment standing on a tropical beach admiring the tranquillity of the scene before the usual afternoon storm. My paintings are composed like an abstract image aiming to produce an emotion. I try to ignore the physical meaning of the subject and focus on the interaction happening between the light effects, the tonal values, the colours, shape and angles as well as the tactile feeling proposed by the texture of the brushwork. The painting is made of multiple layers of colours dissolved in a linseed oil medium. The last layering is made of thing glazing colours to produce the luminosity, transparency and the illusion of texture.
Available framed and ready to hang for $560
