Fragrance over the bay
I have always been influenced by my environment and this painting is part of a series made about the Moreton Bay islands. I have spent 4 years on Karragara Island and painted many compositions with water and sky, inserting natural elements picked during my walks along the shore. In this series I have also experimented on the gesso preparation of the surface to paint. The intricate texture is adding to the visual effect and bring the viewer to have a feel of the underwater.

Oil on board 54 cm x 73 cm. Oil colours painted over acrylic colours making the first layer. The surface painted on is an acrylic rigid panel prepared with thickened gesso to create a texture. The layers are then painted with a linseed oil medium and has a final varnish. The frame is made of wood and aluminium.
