All my flower paintings are composed as an abstract image to produce an emotion. I focus on the interaction between the light effects, tonal values, colours, shapes and angles as well as the tactile feeling suggested by the texture of the brushwork. I like to mix natural elements in a way to create a surreal effect. This oil painting is made of multiple layers of colours dissolved in a linseed oil medium. The last layering is made of thin glazing colours to produce the luminosity, transparency and the illusion of texture.
