Lone gum tree in the mist

This small landscape takes part of my experiment in composing a landscape partially from photo. My environment, especially where I live at the time, will influence my compositions. In this painting, I was impressed by the early morning effects created by the fog. I would get up early and drive around the countryside to make some sketches and take photos for my next paintings. I like the interaction created all together between me, the clouds, the trees, and the moving fog. This gave me the feel of being well grounded with nature.
